Examples of Special Skills
Leadership Skills I work hard on improving my leadership skills. I recently attended a leadership conference with my Draper City Mayor's Youth Council. At this conference we listened to motivational speakers who taught us what to do to become the best leader we can be. There were also classes we attended that taught us similar skills. My position in the Youth Council is the Executive Administrative Assistant. I am in charge of contacting, informing and organizing the members of our council. I always share my ideas and share ideas from people from the community. I am a good leader because people trust me, listen to me and follow what I say. This makes things I am in charge of flow well and work out wonderfully. Listening and Understanding Skills One of my biggest pet peeves is when someone doesn't understand what I am saying. This is the reason why I work so hard to be sure I understand what people are really trying to say before I respond. Fully understanding includes both the information they are communicating and the emotions attached. I try to be sure to respond appropriately to others while they are communicating with me, so they know I am paying close attention. | Teamwork Skills I am good at working in a team because hear everyone's opinion before jumping to a conclusion. I work hard on valuing my team members' ideas. I share as many of my ideas with my team as I can come up with. I always make sure I am respecting my team members and make sure they are respecting each other as well. ![]() Computer Skills I have taken both a high school class and a college class on computer technology. It is important to have computer skills because compters are what our world relies on now. You cannot function in society today without the basic skills of computers. Accounting is done completely on computers, and if it crashed you could potentially lose your whole business. |
