Job Shadow Summary
I was given the opportunity through my school district to job shadow Dave Swapp. He is a financial advisor and co-founder of the company Net Group Advisory. I went to the business and watched many of the employees do their jobs. They all taught me something different and gave me advice on being and accountant. I learned a social person should be a financial advisor because they are the ones who talk to people, while accountants stay at their desks mostly. Dave showed me the portfolio he makes for his customers and explained how he does the math for investing. The secritary showed me all the ways she helps every one out. The man in charge of marketing showed me how he puts together their advertising summary. The accountant taught me how I can become the most successful as an accountant.
A year later, I decided to apply for a job at this financial planning firm. I got the job and am currently an employee of Net Worth Advisory Group. As Dave Swapp's Financial Advising Assistant, I update month end balances, prepare asset allocations and communicate with clients.

Internships
Net Worth Advisory liked me so much and knew I had such a great time invited me to come for an internship instead of just a job shadow. I now work for Net Worth Advisory Group and love the work I do.
I was also recruited by Thom Hall of Financial Stratigies Institute. I came highly recommended to him by business assosiates.
Informational Interviews
I talked with Merrit Arnell about the accounting he has been through and what I will soon be going through. I learned the more math I get done now, the more doors will be opened for me in the accounting field. He taught me how different companies(construction vs. private financial) all want their accounting done differenly. I loved talking with Merrit and am extreemly greatful I was able to learn from him.
I recently talked to a successful financial planner, Amy Marty, who is also a stay at home mom. I was interested in what she had to say because this is one of the selling points for me as well. She told me if I do what she did I can be a stay at home mom and have a successful financial career. She worked hard in the beginning to develop a solid client base; then, she took her business independent. I am grateful to see my dream of working and having a family is reality for someone else.
Community Service Projects
I have worked hard in the Draper City Mayor's Youth Council to serve my community. With them I work on community events, organize volunteers, communicate with others, create ideas, execute ideas, and make serving fun.
I have served many volunteer hours with Draper Arts Council working box office, concessions and sound for the productions.
